10.16.010: DEFINITION:
As used in this chapter, the phrase "chemical substance containing a solvent or chemical compound having the property of releasing toxic vapors or fumes" means and includes any glue, cement, cleaning fluid, paint thinner, lacquer or lacquer thinner, or other adhesive or solvent containing one or more of the following compounds: acetone, benzene, butyl alcohol, ethyl alcohol, ethylene dichloride, isopropyl alcohol, methyl ethyl ketone, pentachlorophenol, petroleum ether, toluene, trichloroethylene, or amyl acetate. 10.16.020: INGESTION AND INHALATION OF SUBSTANCES PROHIBITED WHEN:
Any person who causes a condition of intoxication, inebriation, excitement, stupefaction or the dulling of his brain or nervous system by intentionally smelling, ingesting or inhaling the fumes from any chemical substance or chemical compound having the property of releasing toxic vapors or fumes; provided, however, that nothing in this section shall be interpreted as applying to the inhalation of any anesthesia for medical or dental purposes. Any person committing any such act shall be guilty of a misdemeanor. (1999 Code)
