The flood insurance rate map may be used as a guide for determining the floodplain boundary, but the exact location of the floodplain boundary is where the base flood elevation intersects the natural ground. The boundaries of the floodplain are determined by scaling distances on the flood insurance rate maps and using the floodplain data table contained in the flood insurance study. (Ord. 3159, 8-20-2012)
