The mayor shall have general supervisory control over the affairs of the city. In addition:
A. It shall be the duty of the mayor to preside at all meetings of the city council, and he shall have a casting vote therein when the city council is equally divided. He shall have a supervisory control over all other officers and city employees, and shall, with prior input from the personnel committee, evaluate their performance periodically. He shall have power to veto or sign any ordinance passed by the city council. He shall from time to time communicate to the city council such information or recommend such measures as, in his opinion, may improve, ornament or promote the general prosperity of the city.
B. It shall be the further duty of the mayor to prepare an estimate by July 1 of each year of the anticipated revenues and expenditures for the upcoming fiscal year for consideration by the administrative committee. (Ord. 348, 1-9-1998)
