All backflow prevention assemblies installed in new construction of buildings which are required to be installed shall be shown and specified on all required building and engineering plans in accordance with industry standards. Approval by the state plumbing inspector and the city, by and through the public works department, of the intended assembly installation is required prior to water service being provided by the city to the applicant.
