All use groups, except use group R-residential dwellings, shall be required to install and maintain (A) a rapid entry system and (B)a cabinet style vault. If the cabinet style vault is located on the exterior of the building it may also serve as the rapid entry system. The type and location shall be approved by the fire department and consistent with the standards set forth in § 804 below. Such rapid entry system and cabinet style vault shall be installed prior to occupancy and/or final inspection.
A. Use group R-1 and R-2 shall provide a rapid entry system.
B. Buildings required to file MSDS with the County of Lehigh by SARA are required to locate a cabinet style vault on the exterior of the building.
C. Buildings with twenty-four (24) hour fire department on premises are exempt from this requirement.
