(A) No driver of a vehicle, except an emergency vehicle, shall drive between the vehicles comprising a funeral procession or other authorized procession while they are in motion and when the vehicles are conspicuously designated, as required in this code.
(B) This provision shall not apply at intersections where traffic is controlled by a traffic-control signal or a police officer, and shall not apply to authorized emergency vehicles.
(C) A funeral procession composed of vehicles may be identified as a funeral procession by the display on the outside of each vehicle of a pennant of the type designated by the Traffic Division of the Police Department, or shall drive with every vehicle’s headlights turned on.
(D) Each driver in a funeral procession shall drive as near to the right-hand edge of the roadway as practical and follow the vehicle ahead as close as practical and safe.
(E) Each mortician shall notify the Police Department of the day and the hour of each funeral procession to be had by him or her in the city, together with the proposed route thereof, as far ahead of the proposed time as possible.
