353.09 DEPOSIT OF COINS; UNLOADING TRUCKS; MARKET SPACE.
   (a)   When any vehicle is parked in any space adjacent to which a parking meter is located, in accordance with the provisions of Section 353.02, the operator of such vehicle, shall, immediately upon entering the parking space deposit in the meter a prescribed coin of the United States of America of the denomination or denominations designated on the parking meter. For parking a vehicle in parallel parking too large to be confined in a single space, only the meter nearest to the hood or front end of the vehicle need be operated. Upon the deposit of such required coin or coins the parking space shall be lawfully occupied by such vehicle for the time designated therefor on the parking meter.
   (b)   If a vehicle remains parked in any parking space beyond the specified time period, the parking meter shall by its dial and pointer indicate such illegal parking, and in that event the vehicle shall be considered as parking overtime and beyond the period of legal parking time.
   (c)   Commercial trucks may park in parking zones to load or unload merchandise without depositing coins for a period of not more than thirty minutes.
   (d)   All persons who have been assigned a market space as provided in Chapter 717 of the Business Regulations Code, may park in the parking zones located at the market during market days and market hours as set out in Chapter 717 without depositing coins.
