(A) Approval.
The Village Clerk, subject to advice and consent of the Village Board of Trustees, shall be authorized to appoint one (1) Deputy Clerk in the manner provided and as authorized by 65 ILCS 5/3.1-30-10.
(B) Limitations on Authority.
The Deputy Clerk may act in the stead and place of the Village Clerk pursuant to authority granted by 65 ILCS 5/3.1-35-95, and subject to the limitations set forth therein. The Deputy Clerk appointed may only act in the absence of the Village Clerk from the place where the clerk’s official office is maintained and only when either (1) written direction has been given by the Village Clerk to the Deputy Clerk to exercise a power of the Office of Clerk; or (2) the Corporate Authorities for the Village have determined by Resolution the Village Clerk is temporarily or permanently imcapacitated or otherwise inhibited from performing the duties of said office. No additional compensation shall be paid by the Village to said Deputy Clerk as part of the performance of duties as assigned and undertaken in said capacity.
