It is unlawful for any taxicab service to operate or cause to be operated a taxicab in the city without first having obtained from the city a license as herein provided for. All taxicab service providers shall also carry a policy of insurance covering property damage and personal injuries in an amount required by the laws of this state; provided, however, no policy shall be in an amount less than one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000.00) for bodily injury and/or property damage, per person, with three hundred thousand dollars ($300,000.00) in coverage per occurrence; or alternatively a three hundred thousand dollar ($300,000.00) single limit policy covering bodily injuries and property damage.
