A "taxicab", for the purpose of this chapter, is any motor vehicle or other vehicle used for the transportation of passengers for hire within the city by means of automobile, taxicab, bus, hack, truck, van, SUV, baggage wagon or other motor or horsedrawn vehicle, but not on regular or designated route. Specifically excluded from the definition of "taxicab" is the Pelivan Transit service, and the Grove grand trolley system. Any person or persons, or any entity, operating a taxicab in the city shall be deemed a "taxicab service" or "taxicab service provider" for the purposes of this chapter. (Ord. 523, 9-21-2004)
