8.05.010 Purpose and findings.
   The City of Gridley finds and declares:
   A.   SB 1383, the Short-lived Climate Pollutant Reduction Act of 2016, places requirements on multiple entities including Jurisdictions, residential households, commercial businesses and business owners, commercial edible food generators, haulers, self-haulers, food recovery organizations, and food recovery services to support achievement of statewide organic waste disposal reduction targets.
   B.   The Final Regulation Text of the SB 1383 Regulations implementing SB 1383 was adopted by CalRecycle on November 3, 2020.
   C.   The SB 1383 Regulations require Jurisdictions to adopt and enforce an ordinance or enforceable mechanisms to mandate that organic waste generators, haulers, and other entities subject to the requirements of this chapter that are subject to the jurisdiction's authority comply with relevant provisions of 14 CCR, Division 7, Chapter 12.
   D.   This chapter is intended to authorize the City Administrator to make determinations and undertake or arrange for programs and activities required to implement relevant provisions of the SB 1383 Regulations.
   E.   Nothing in this chapter is intended to nor shall it be interpreted or construed as violating 14 CCR Sections 18990.1(b) or 18990.2.
