The city may, in its discretion and through its duly authorized officer or agent, notify such owners as described in § 91.45 that repairs or reconstruction are necessary to put the sidewalk in good order and such owner shall within 30 days after such notification complete the repairs or reconstruction as specified in such notice. If the owner fails to make the required repairs or reconstruction, the city may repair same and the owner shall be liable to the city for the cost of repairs. The city may thereupon place a lien against the property abutting the sidewalk to be filed in the office of the County Clerk. From and after the date of the lien notice, the obligation shall bear interest at the legal rate.

Each owner as described in § 91.45 shall indemnify and hold harmless the city from all claims or losses by or to persons or property of others caused by said owner's failure to repair, reconstruct, and keep in good order and in reasonably safe condition all such sidewalks abutting and fronting his property upon any street or roadway within the corporate limits of the city.

(A) Whoever violates any provision of this chapter for which no specific penalty is otherwise provided shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and shall, upon conviction, be fined not more than $500.
(B) Any person, firm, corporation or entity who violates § 91.07 shall be guilty of a Class B misdemeanor and shall be fined not less than $50 nor more than $500 or sentenced to a term in the county jail not to exceed 90 days, or both, for each offense. Each day's violation of § 91.07 shall constitute a separate offense.
(C) Any person, firm, corporation, or other entity found to be in violation of § 91.08 shall pay a fine in the Jefferson District Court not to exceed $500 or, in the alternative, a civil penalty to the Code Enforcement Board of the city in an amount not to exceed $500. Each day’s violation of this section may be considered a separate offense.

(E) Pursuant to the provisions contained in KRS 65.8808, the maximum civil fine shall be $500 and civil fines less than maximum if not contested shall be $300.
