There is hereby created and established a tree board for the city of Gooding, which shall consist of four (4) members, citizens and residents of this community, who shall be appointed by the mayor with the approval of the city council.
A. Term Of Office: The term of the four (4) persons to be appointed by the mayor shall be three (3) years, except that two (2) of the members appointed to the first board shall be for only two (2) years. In the event that a vacancy shall occur during the term of any member, his successor shall be appointed for the unexpired portion of the term.
B. Compensation: Members of the board shall serve without compensation.
C. Operation: The committee shall choose its own officers, keep a record of its proceedings and report to the mayor and council as requested. Majority of the members shall be a quorum for the transaction of business. (Ord. 668, 1-5-2010)
