The term of office for commissioners shall be five years. Initially, the chairperson shall be appointed for a term of five years, the vice chairperson shall be appointed for a term of four years, and the remaining commissioner shall be appointed for an initial term of three years, respectively; thereafter such commissioners or their successors shall be appointed for a term of five years as herein provided for the appointment and approval of such commissioners.
