§ 26B-30 ADVISORY REVIEW.
   (a)   Unless expressly exempted herein, no permits for the alteration, demolition, signage or any other physical modifications of an honorary landmark or a structure, building, object, site or area located within a recognized historic area or otherwise having honorary status may be issued by the village without the commission conducting an advisoiy review in accordance with the procedures and criteria specified in this article.
   (b)   An advisory review shall not be required in connection with:
      (1)   Permit applications not involving any alteration to or demolition of the exterior architectural appearance of a structure, building, object or site having honorary status; or
      (2)   Permits necessary for compliance with a lawful order of the village, including without limitation, any permit necessary to correct what is determined by the issuing officer to be an immediate health or safety problem; provided such order expressly exempts the alteration or demolition from the advisory review procedure; and provided further that such order may be made subject to appropriate conditions to advance the purpose and goals of this chapter.
