§ 26B-7 ADDITIONAL AUTHORITY AND DUTIES.
   In addition to the commission's authority and duties as set forth in chapter 26A, and subject to the laws of the State of Illinois, the Glencoe village code and any other ordinances and resolutions of the village, the commission shall have and may exercise the additional authority and duties herein described:
   (a)   To assist persons in the preparation of an application for recognition as an honorary landmark or for a recognized historic area and the alteration or demolition of the same;
   (b)   To hold public hearings, review applications, conduct advisory review conferences, make recommendations or decisions regarding the recognition of a structure, building, object and/or site as an honorary landmark or a recognized historic area, the alteration or demolition of the same;
   (c)   To keep a register of all structures, buildings, objects, sites and areas that have been approved as an honorary landmark, or a recognized historic area, including all information required for the approval of each landmark or district;
   (d)   To determine an appropriate design of markers for honorary landmarks and recognized historic areas.
