The purpose of this chapter is to promote the recognition of structures, buildings, objects, sites, and areas in the village having historic and architectural interest and value. The village seeks to recognize such structures, buildings, objects, sites, and areas in order to encourage their protection, enhancement, and perpetuation for the benefit of the village and its residents because of their significance to the village's archaeology, history, culture and architecture.
