§ 36-8 APPLICATION FOR SUPPLY OF WATER OR FOR TAPPING MAIN OR MAKING CONNECTION; REQUIREMENTS AS TO SUPPLYING WATER, TAPPING MAIN OR MAKING CONNECTION GENERALLY.
   No water shall be supplied to any building, structure or premises in the village where water is not now being supplied from the village waterworks or water-service system, nor shall any person be permitted to tap any water main or make connection with any service pipe or supply pipe for the purpose of furnishing water to any building, structure or premises or for any other purpose, until an application therefor in writing shall first have been made to the superintendent of water by the person desiring such building, structure or premises to be supplied with water, or desiring to tap any such main or to make connection with any such service or supply pipe or for such other purpose. Such application shall set out the full name and address of the applicant, and shall state fully all purposes for which a water supply is desired, or for which it is desired to tap such water main or make connection with such service or supply pipe, or other purposes. Thereupon, such applicant shall be permitted to have water supplied to his or her building, structure or premises from the village waterworks or water-service system, and to tap any such water main or make connection with any such service pipe or supply pipe for such purposes, as requested in his or her application, and in accordance with the direction of the superintendent of water and under his or her supervision and to his or her satisfaction and approval; provided, that the tapping of any water main shall be done only by an employee of the water department.
