For the purposes of this Article II of Chapter 32, the following words and phrases shall have the meanings respectively ascribed to them by this section, except when the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning. All words or phrases not defined in this Section have the meanings ascribed to them in the Illinois Vehicle Code, 625 ILCS 5/1-100 et seq.
BUS LINE. Any motor vehicles used to carry passengers along or fixed route for hire. Bus lines do not include bus services conducted by public agencies within the state of Illinois.
INTERCITY BUS. Any bus used for the one-way transportation of ten or more passengers originating from a location outside of the village that is not a regularly scheduled service.
REGULARLY SCHEDULED SERVICE. Bus service involving passengers disembarking in the village on a predictable and recurring basis, following a schedule that is published at least five days in advance and available to the general public in the village, and provides service in exchange for paying a fare.
UNSCHEDULED STOP. The stopping or standing of an intercity bus within the village for the purpose of unloading or the disembarking of passengers without prior approval of the village as required by this Article II of Chapter 32.
