§ 24-37 METERS - TAMPERING WITH, DEFACING, ETC.
   It shall be unlawful for any person to break, deface, disturb, tamper or interfere with, carry away or in any other way injure or destroy any water meter, gas meter or electric meter, or any seal attached to any portion of any such water, gas or electric meter, or any appliance connected therewith. It shall also be unlawful for any person to make, attempt to make or cause to be made any connection between any water, gas or electric meter and any water or gas main, or any cable or wire supplying electric current, at any place within the village without a permit therefor.
