§ 9-54 INSPECTIONS AND RECORDS THEREOF; RIGHT OF ENTRY OF CERTAIN VILLAGE OFFICERS.
   The director of public works or other building officers shall inspect or cause to be inspected all buildings reported unsafe, and shall make or cause to be made and preserved records of all such inspections. For the purpose of making such inspections, such officers shall have the right to visit, enter and inspect from time to time, and at all reasonable hours, any building or structure in the village which any such officer has reason to believe is in a dangerous or defective condition in regard to its construction or through damage by fire, accident, lack of repair or decay.
