The members of the public safety commission shall have such qualifications as are now, or may here after be, required for members of boards of fire and police commissioners by § 3 of Division 2.1 of Article 10 of the Illinois Municipal Code, Ill. Rev. Stat. ch. 24, § 102.1-3 or its successor statutory provision. Each member of the commission shall file an oath or affirmation of office with the village and shall execute and deliver to the village a bond in the sum of $1,000 with such surety as the village president and board of trustees shall by motion or resolution approve, conditioned on the faithful performance of the duties of his or her office. Members of the commission shall be subject to removal in the manner provided for removal of members of boards of fire and police commissioners in the aforesaid section of the Illinois Municipal Code.
