§ 2-140 APPOINTMENT; TERM.
   Members of the public safety commission shall be appointed by the village president with the consent of the board of trustees. The terms of office of members of the commission shall end at the end of the village fiscal year and shall be three years and until their respective successors shall be appointed and qualified; provided that:
   (a)   No appointment shall be made by the village president within 30 days before the expiration of his or her term;
   (b)   The first appointments shall be for terms not to exceed one, two or three years, respectively, and they shall serve such term until their successors are appointed and qualified; and
   (c)   A vacancy on the commission shall be filled in the same manner as an original appointment.
