§ 2-88 DEPUTY CHIEFS - POWERS AND DUTIES.
   Two deputy chiefs of public safety shall be appointed by the director of public safety from any rank of sworn, full-time members of the department of public safety and must have at least five years of full-time service as a member in the department. The deputy chiefs of public safety shall be an exempt rank immediately below that of the director of public safety. The deputy chiefs of public safety shall serve at the discretion of the director of public safety and, if removed from the position, shall revert to the rank held immediately prior to appointment to the position of deputy chief of public safety.
