§ 8. MEMBER NOT TO HOLD OTHER OFFICE OR MAKE, ETC., CONTRACTS WITH COUNCIL, ETC.
   No member of the council, during the term of his office, shall be appointed to any office under the authority of the council, except temporary clerk, nor make any contracts with the council or corporation, nor be in any manner interested in such contract.
