240.07  COMMUNICATIONS SECTION.
   Within the Department of Public Safety there shall also be a Communications Section. The purpose of the Communications Section shall be to store, receive and disseminate information which will facilitate the operation and purpose of the Department of Public Safety. Individuals within the Communications Section shall also perform those other duties as may be assigned by the Director of Public Safety. The organization and administration of the Communications Section of the Department shall be the responsibility of the Director. The Director may delegate responsibility for the Communications Section to a designated representative.
   The authorized strength of the Communications Section shall consist of four full-time dispatchers. The Director, or his or her designated representative, may employ additional part-time dispatchers, when necessary, with the approval of the City Manager.
