Violation of this chapter shall be a misdemeanor, subject to penalty as provided in section 1-4-1 of this code. In addition, the building official may issue a stop work order on any project which is not in compliance with this chapter and may refuse to allow work to proceed until all existing work is made to conform to city requirements.
