7-1-1: DEDICATION OF PUBLIC WAYS:
Any person opening up any street or alley within the corporate limits of the city for public use must cause same to be dedicated to the city, either by plat or deed, before said street or alley can become a public thoroughfare. (1984 Code § 7-1-1)
7-1-2: GRADE AND WIDTH REQUIREMENTS:
   A.   The city council shall require the grading of any street or alley to the level specified, and shall specify the minimum width of such street or alley before accepting such street or alley into the city street system.
   B.   The city council shall not order grading, surfacing or maintenance work, or shall not construct any water or sewer lines on any street or alley, which has not been dedicated or prepared as required by this chapter. (1984 Code § 7-1-2)
7-1-3: APPLICABILITY TO NEW SUBDIVISIONS AND ADDITIONS:
Before being taken into the corporate limits of the city, any subdivision or addition must meet all requirements for new streets and alleys as herein outlined. (1984 Code § 7-1-3)
