8-2-9: VIOLATIONS; PENALTY:
   A.   It shall be unlawful for any person to:
      1.   Violate any provision of this chapter;
      2.   Tamper with, alter or injure any part of the city waterworks or water supply system, any meter or any shutoff box;
      3.   Use any water for irrigation purposes during the progress of any fire in the city, and such irrigation use shall be immediately stopped when an alarm of fire is sounded in any part of the city, and shall not be begun until the fire has been extinguished;
      4.   Reconnect to the city water system after having been shut off for any reason without first paying any required hookup fee, reconnection fees, past due water bills or any other charges levied by the city.
   B.   Any violation of the provisions of this chapter shall be punishable as a misdemeanor and, upon conviction, any such person shall be subject to penalty as provided in section 1-4-1 of this code. (1984 Code § 7-3B-9; amd. 2014 Code; Ord. 676, 11-23-2020)
