§ 71.01  COMMERCIAL VEHICLES PROHIBITED ON CERTAIN STREETS; EXCEPTIONS.
   (A)   Drivers of commercial vehicles with a registered gross weight in excess of ten tons or 20,000 pounds (ten tons), are hereby prohibited from operating or driving the vehicles over any city street or portion of streets.  However, when these vehicles are being operated or driven for the purpose of local delivery, the drivers may use and proceed by the shortest possible route on, over, or across any restricted city street to or from the nearest commercial vehicle routes as provided in Chapter 76, Schedule I.

   (B)   The posting of any restricted streets shall be accomplished by the use of uniform signs reading "10 Ton Limit - Except Local Delivery", and shall be erected by the Police Chief.  ('75 Code, § 27.04)
