GENERAL PROVISIONS
(A) Adoption of Fire Prevention Code.
(1) There is hereby adopted, for the purpose of prescribing regulations governing conditions, hazardous to life and property from fire or explosion, the BOCA National Fire Prevention Code, most recent edition, as amended, as published by the Building Officials and Code Administrators International, Inc., save and except such portions as are hereinafter deleted, modified, or amended herein.
(2) A complete copy of this code, and supplements thereto, are available for public use and inspection ln the office of the Village Clerk.
(3) From and after the date on which this code shall take effect, the provisions of the BOCA Fire Prevention Code and supplements thereto shall be controlling within the limits of the village.
(B) Enforcement. The code hereby adopted shall be enforced by the Chief of the Dallas Township Fire Department and those persons designated by him or her and serving under him or her.
(C) Definitions. Wherever the words “name of jurisdiction” are used in the code herein adopted, those words shall mean the Village of Fowler and its prescribed jurisdictional boundaries. Wherever the words “name of state” are used, they shall mean the State of Michigan.
(D) Amendments to the adopted code. The code hereby adopted is amended to the extent that when any statute of the state or any ordinance of the village shall impose greater or more stringent requirements, the more stringent or more restrictive requirement shall apply; that no ordinance of the village setting forth less stringent requirements shall be operative; and the more restrictive requirements of either document being deemed to apply.
