8-1-9: SATELLITE ANTENNAS:
   A.   Permit Required: No satellite antenna shall be located, constructed or installed in the village without a permit being issued therefor. A "satellite antenna" is described as any reflector used to receive microwave impulses. It is also referred to herein as a "dish".
   B.   Area Restrictions: No satellite antenna shall be permitted in an area zoned low density residential district, medium density residential district or high density residential district 1 unless:
      1.   The possession of the antenna is permitted by applicable law.
      2.   If the antenna consists of a dish, the dish shall be the least size required for reception, not exceed eleven feet (11') in diameter and be mounted on a concrete base. The dish shall not exceed fifteen feet (15') in height from the concrete base. The mounting of a dish shall not be permitted on a structure of any kind.
      3.   Construction shall conform to all village ordinances.
      4.   Not more than one such dish shall be installed on any lot of record.
      5.   The dish shall be located on the rear of the lot but not within the rear or side yard requirements; the color and structural quality shall blend with existing use of the property and adjacent properties and be screened by landscaping. All electrical connections shall be Underwriters Laboratory approved and the current shall be of low voltage.
   C.   Requirements: In all other zoned districts a satellite antenna shall not be permitted unless:
      1.   The possession of the antenna is permitted by applicable law.
      2.   If the antenna consists of a dish, the dish shall be the least size required for reception.
      3.   Construction shall conform to all village ordinances.
      4.   Not more than one such dish shall be installed on any lot of record.
      5.   In the case of the property abutting a residential district, the dish shall be located on the rear of the lot but not within the rear or side yard requirements.
      6.   The color and structural quality of the dish shall blend with existing use of the property and adjacent properties, if it abuts a residential district, and be screened by landscaping. All electrical connections shall be Underwriters Laboratory approved and the current shall be of low voltage.
   D.   Permit Application: A permit for the installation of an antenna shall be issued by the building department upon presentation of an application, compliance with this section and the permit fee as set forth from time to time by the village council 2 . Applications shall be accompanied by sufficient documentation to demonstrate compliance, with the provisions of this section.
   E.   Variations: Variations in the application of this section may be granted by the zoning board of appeals as in the cases of procedures for variations from the zoning ordinance of the village. (Ord. O-16-84, 12-17-1984)
