(a) Upon receipt of a properly completed application form, the Commissioner shall register the applicant in a journal kept for that purpose, and shall issue to the registrant a Certificate of Registration valid for 1 (one) year from the date of issuance.

(b) No person, corporation, partnership, firm or other business association shall, acting in the capacity of a contractor, engage in heating and/or refrigeration and/or air conditioning work, electrical work, plumbing work or sewer building, without first obtaining a registration for each trade from the Building Commissioner. For the purpose of this section “contractor and subcontractor” need not be an employer.
(c) Contractors registered pursuant to this section shall warrant and shall be presumed to have warranted that all work performed and all materials to be supplied by contractor are in compliance with all applicable ordinances of the City.
(d) Prior to the issuance of a registration the Building Commissioner shall require an applicant (subcontractor or general contractor) to furnish the following:
(2) Plumbing, sewer building, electrical and heating contractors shall be required to show proof that they are qualified to perform such work as required by their respective trade. Plumbers, electricians heating and/or air conditioning contractors (including hydronics) shall provide the Building Commissioner with copies of their license from an Ohio state agency.
(e) Federal I.D. number of social security number.
(f) Evidence of registration with R.I.T.A.
(g) The fee for registration shall be the same as set forth in Section 1305.03.
(h) Written evidence of the bond required by Section 1305.05.
