All traffic within the town will be governed and regulated by the provisions of said Uniform Act Regulating Traffic on Highways as so set forth in the state statutes; provided that, the speed limit within the town limits shall be 25 mph in the business district or residential districts, except on zones which are clearly marked for speed limits.

(A) Restricting U-turns. It shall be unlawful for the operator of any motor vehicle to make a U-turn or to turn across the opposite lane of traffic to park at the curb anywhere along Montana State Highway No. 200 within the corporate limits of the town.

(B) Intersections. It shall be unlawful to make a U-turn at any controlled intersection within the corporate limits of the town.

(A) Definitions. For the purposes of this section, EXHIBITION DRIVING means driving a vehicle in a manner which disturbs the peace by creating or causing unnecessary engine noise, tire squeal, skid or slide upon acceleration or braking or driving and executing or attempting one or a series of unnecessarily abrupt turns.

(B) Exhibition driving unlawful. No person may engage in exhibition driving of any vehicle on a highway, street, alley, sidewalk or any public or private parking lot or area, nor may any person engage in any exhibition of speed or acceleration.

(C) Driving exempted. Nothing in this section shall be construed as prohibiting drag racing, exhibition driving or similar events when carried out in an organized manner on a track or other specified area as approved by the Mayor and Chief of Police.

(A) As used in this section, the term MOTOR VEHICLE means a vehicle propelled by its own power and designed or used to transport persons or property upon the highways of the state, but shall not include Fire Department vehicles and Police Department vehicles.

(A) No vehicle, motor or otherwise, shall be parked at ant time in any alley within the town for more than 30 minutes unless special permission has been first obtained from the town’s Police Department to do so.

(B) (1) A person may not stop, stand or park a vehicle, except when necessary to avoid conflict with other traffic or in compliance or law with the directions of a police officer, in any of the following places:
(a) On a sidewalk;
(b) In front of a public or private driveway;
(c) Within an intersection;
(d) Within 15 feet of a fire hydrant;
(e) On a crosswalk;
(f) Within 20 feet of a crosswalk at an intersection;
(g) Within 30 feet upon the approach to any flashing beacon, stop sign or official traffic- control device located at the side of roadway;
(h) Between a safety zone and the adjacent curb or within 30 feet of points on the curb immediately opposite the ends of a safety zone;
(i) Within 50 feet of the nearest rail of a railroad crossing;
(j) Within 20 feet of the driveway entrance to any fire station and on the side of a street opposite the entrance to any fire station within 75 feet of the entrance when properly sign posted;
(k) Alongside or opposite any street excavation or obstruction when stopping, standing or parking would obstruct traffic; and/or
(l) On the roadway side of any vehicle stopped or parked on the edge or curb of a street.
(2) As used in this division (B), SAFETY ZONE means the area or space that is officially set apart within a roadway for the exclusive use of pedestrians and that is protected or so marked or indicated by adequate signs as to be plainly visible at all times while set apart as a safety zone.
