347.01 DEFINITIONS.
   Wherever in this chapter the terms defined in Chapter 301 are used, they shall have the meanings respectively ascribed to them in Chapter 301, unless the context herein requires a different meaning. "U4 District" means a Local Retail or Wholesale Store District as designated in Chapter 1357 of the Planning and Zoning Code.

347.02 ADMINISTRATION.
   It shall be the duty of the Police Department to enforce the provisions of this chapter. The Chief of Police shall assign such officers and members of the Police Department as he or she may determine necessary to the duty of enforcing the provisions of this chapter. In the event of fire or other emergency, members of the Fire Department may direct traffic and otherwise assist the Police Department, notwithstanding any other provisions of this chapter.

347.03 ESTABLISHMENT OF PEDESTRIAN AND VEHICULAR TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES.
   The Chief of Police is hereby empowered and authorized to designate or approve the erection of stop signs at such locations in a U4 District as he or she deems necessary or desirable for the safe and efficient movement of vehicles and pedestrians. The Chief of Police is empowered and authorized to designate or approve the placing of appropriate devices, lines or marks upon the roadways, parking areas and sidewalks to indicate crosswalks, walkways and safety islands at such places in a U4 District as he or she deems necessary for the safe and efficient movement of pedestrians.

347.04 OBEDIENCE TO PEDESTRIAN AND VEHICULAR TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES.
   No operator of a vehicle or any pedestrian shall disobey the instructions of any traffic control device placed in accordance with this chapter, unless otherwise directed by a police officer.
