(A) When signs are erected giving notice thereof, no person shall park a vehicle at any time upon any of the streets or parts of streets designated as no parking areas and described in the schedule of no parking areas in Ch. 74, Sched. I, of this code unless that person is granted a temporary visitor’s permit by the Town Marshal or his or her staff as provided in § 72.03 of this code.
(B) A person who violates the provisions of this section commits a class E ordinance violation and shall be fined. In addition, the person’s vehicle is subject to being towed at the discretion of the Police Department if it creates a hazard.
(C) An administrative fee shall be assessed on towed vehicles to help offset costs associated with the implementation, enforcement, and administration of the Traffic Code.
(1) If a vehicle is removed and impounded pursuant to the Traffic Code, or for violations of the Indiana Code or other authorized police impoundments, then in addition to any towing and storage charges assessed by the towing company used, an administrative fee of $25 shall be levied when the vehicle owner or last operator obtains a copy of the abandoned/impounded vehicle report from the Police Department.
(2) The administrative fee shall be deposited and equally divided between the town’s General Fund and the Law Enforcement Continuing Education Fund in accordance with § 70.04(B).
