§ 71.57 NO CRUISING AREA.
   The streets or parts of streets set forth in Chapter 73, Schedule VI, are designated as “No Cruising Areas” within the town at any time between 6:00 p.m. on Fridays and 3:00 a.m. on Saturdays, between 6:00 p.m. on Saturdays and 3:00 a.m. on Sundays and between 6:00 p.m. on Sundays and 3:00 a.m. on Mondays; it being determined that cruising on the streets or parts of streets set out in Chapter 73, Schedule VI during the times herein prohibited results in traffic congestion, obstruction of public streets, limited access to shops, store, office and other public building activities; presents imminent danger to the public safety and welfare; and limits or impairs the ability of the Police Department, Fire Department and other emergency vehicles responding to emergency situations to reach the area in which an emergency exists.

§ 71.58 CRUISING PROHIBITED.
   It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to drive a motor vehicle in such manner as to constitute cruising on the streets or alleys listed in Chapter 73, Schedule VI during the time listed in § 71.57.

§ 71.59 EXCEPTIONS.
   (A)   Any vehicle licensed for public transportation; and
   (B)   Any publicly owned vehicle of any town, city, county, municipality, metropolitan government, public district, state or federal agency.

§ 71.60 ENFORCEMENT.
   This chapter will be in full force and effect and enforced only at any time between 6:00 p.m. on Friday and 3:00 a.m. on Saturday, between 6:00 p.m. on Saturday and 3:00 a.m. on Sunday and between 6:00 p.m. on Sunday and 3:00 a.m. on Monday.

§ 71.99 PENALTY.
   (A)   Any person violating any provision of this chapter for which no specific penalty is prescribed shall be subject to § 10.99.
   (B)   Any person, firm or corporation violating the provisions of § 71.18 shall upon conviction be guilty of a misdemeanor and shall be punished in accordance with the provisions of G.S. § 14-4.
   (C)   Any person, firm or corporation violating the provisions of §§ 71.55 through 71.60 shall upon conviction be responsible for an infraction and shall be punished in accordance with the provisions of G.S. § 14-4.
