A. Flush With Ground: All grave markers shall be flat and laid flush with the ground surface in section A of the Elgin Memorial Cemetery. Upright headstones are allowed in other sections of the Elgin Memorial Cemetery and in Elgin Cemetery.
B. Size: A single grave marker in section A of Elgin Memorial Cemetery shall be no larger than two feet by three feet (2' x 3'). A double marker for two (2) plots in section A of Elgin Memorial Cemetery shall be no larger than six feet by three feet (6' x 3'); both plots must be owned to place a double marker.
C. Supervision Of Installation: The city shall have the sole right to supervise the installation of grave markers, and a twenty four (24) hour notice must be given to the city prior to the installation of any markers.
D. Foot Markers: Foot markers are allowed for military veterans only and must be laid flush with the ground surface. (1991 Code § 16-102; amd. 2013 Code; Ord. 22-38, 10-11-2022)
