(A) The Town Marshal and deputies, or such deputies as are assigned by the Town Marshal, are hereby authorized to direct all traffic by voice, hand, or signal in conformance with traffic laws. However, in the event of a fire or other emergency or to expedite traffic or safeguard pedestrians, the Town Marshal and deputies may direct traffic as conditions may require, notwithstanding the provisions of the traffic laws.
(B) Officers of the Fire Department, when at the scene of a fire, may direct traffic in the immediate vicinity of a fire or fire equipment. If the Town Marshal or his deputy is at the scene of a fire, officers of the Fire Department shall not contradict the actions of the Town Marshal or deputy as they relate to traffic.
(C) School crossing guards are authorized to direct traffic at a designated school crossing during periods of arrival or departure of school children.
