When, upon application for a license under the provisions of this chapter, the Chief Building Official is satisfied as to the competence of an applicant to perform certain services of his trade on a temporary basis, pending examination and licensure, the Chief Building Official is empowered and may issue to an applicant for regular licensure a temporary license specifying those activities the temporary license holder may engage in. The temporary license shall be effective from the date of issuance until the certification of the results of the next examination for the license for which the person has applied. The fee for a temporary license shall be as provided in Section 1301.01.
