All sewer pipe shall be laid on firm ground or bedded with #57 stone or equivalent with proper bell holes, except where rock, shale or similar unyielding material is encountered, in which case the pipe shall be laid on a one-foot tamped sand cushion. All sewer pipe shall have a cover of one-foot above the top of the pipe with premium fill. All shall be laid with a minimum pitch of one-eighth inch for each foot of pipe.
