949.02 SPECIFICATIONS FOR PIPE, FITTINGS AND JOINTS.
   (a)   Except as hereinafter provided, all pipe and fittings shall be made of first class vitrified material, free from chips and cracks or PVC and shall conform to the standard ASTM specifications as noted.
   (b)   The sanitary sewer service connection between the street sewer at the test tee and the house shall be a minimum of six (6) inches in diameter.
   (c)   The storm sewer service connection between the street sewer at the test tee and the house shall be a minimum of six (6) inches in diameter and meet all requirements set forth herein. Upon the discretion of the Service Director, a larger storm sewer connection may be required.
   (d)   Vitrified clay pipe shall meet the requirements of ASTM C700ES with ASTM C425 premium joints.
   (e)   PVC SDR35, SDR26 and SDR21 may be used for main line sewer and service laterals from the street sewer to the house. PVC pipe must meet manufacturers depth requirements under roadways, SDR26 or SDR21 may be used. All SDR series PVC pipe must meet requirements of ASTM 2241.
   (f)   PVC piping shall be made of compounds conforming to material requirements of ASTM D3034 and ASTM F679 in accordance with ASTM D1784. PVC pipe must meet all dimensional, chemical, and physical requiredments as outlined in ASTM D3034 and ASTM F679. All PVC pipe must have an integral bell "water tight" joint that meets the requirements of ASTM D 3212 and that utilizes a gasket system (Reiber joint) for sealing purposes that meets the requirement of ASTM F477.

   (g)   The Service Director and/or Chief Building Official or his representative reserves the right to authorize any different piping that meets the requirements set forth herein.
