In all cases where licenses for engaging in a business may be issued for lesser periods than a full year, the license fee shall be prorated as follows:
A. When the application is made within the first quarter of the fiscal year, the license fee shall be the same as the annual fee;
B. When the application is made in the second quarter of the fiscal year, the license fee shall be seventy five percent (75%) of the annual fee;
C. When the application is made in the third quarter of the fiscal year, the license fee shall be fifty percent (50%) of the annual fee; and
D. When the application is made in the fourth quarter of the fiscal year, the license fee shall be twenty five percent (25%) of the annual fee. In all other cases, the license fee provided for in the general license ordinance governing the particular business for which a license is required shall prevail and be exacted. Fractions of a month shall be taken as a full month. (2007 Code § 31-6)
