9-3-4: WIREMAN'S LICENSE:
   A.   Application For License: All persons who desire to engage in the occupation of journeyman's electric wireman shall make application to the city clerk for a wireman's license. Said application will be referred to the state examining board who, in turn, will examine the applicant by a written examination consisting of questions to be answered to ascertain his qualifications and ability to install electrical wiring, apparatus and equipment in accordance with the requirements of this chapter and the electrical code herein adopted.
   B.   License Fee; Issuance:
      1.   If, after applicant is examined, the application is approved, the city clerk shall, upon the receipt of the required fee as set from time to time by resolution of the board of commissioners, issue a wireman's license which shall be for a period of one year or a fraction thereof, the same to expire June 30 following the date of issue. In the event that the applicant fails his examination, after the expiration of at least thirty (30) days from that date, he shall be entitled to another examination.
      2.   There shall be a fee as set from time to time by resolution of the board of commissioners for an apprentice, working under a licensed journeyman electric wireman.
   C.   License Renewal: Wiremen's licenses may be renewed without examination therefor prior to the expiration date of the former license. If not renewed prior to expiration of former license, applicant must again be examined, as required upon issuance of original license. (1980 Code § 4-40; amd. 2002 Code)
