Notwithstanding anything to the contrary in the BOCA national and international building code, wood shingles may be used outside of the fire limits for roofing on dwellings and on buildings accessory to dwellings (such as private garages, barns, etc.). (1980 Code § 4-5; amd. 2002 Code)
