A. Golf carts and all-terrain vehicles are hereby permitted to operate on the residential streets of the city of Drumright where the posted speed limit is twenty five (25) miles per hour or less, but may not be operated on state highways within the city of Drumright, except to make a crossing of the state highway at an intersection of a city street with a state highway. Golf carts and all-terrain vehicles crossing a state highway must cross in the shortest possible manner from one side of the state highway to the other side.
B. Golf carts and all-terrain vehicles operated on city streets shall be equipped with the following: headlamps, taillamps, reflectors or reflector tape on each side and the rear, a mirror mounted so that the driver can monitor traffic to his rear, a parking brake and a windshield that conforms to the federal motor vehicle safety standards. The windshield must be in the up position when operated on city streets.
C. Operation of golf carts and all-terrain vehicles on city streets is limited to daylight hours only and shall not be operated during rain, snow, ice or other hazardous conditions.
D. All operators of golf carts and all-terrain vehicles on city streets must be holders of a valid driver's license. (Ord. 275, 8-9-2010)
