§ 70.02 COMPLIANCE; EXCEPTIONS.
   (A)   It shall be unlawful for any person to refuse or fail to comply with any lawful order, sign or direction of a police officer.
   (B)   The provisions of this traffic code regulating the movement, parking and standing of vehicles shall not apply to authorized emergency vehicles, as defined herein, while the operator of the vehicle is operating the same in an emergency in the necessary performance of public duties. This exemption shall not, however, protect the operator of any vehicle from the consequences of a reckless disregard of the safety of others.

§ 70.03 TRAFFIC-CONTROL DEVICES; DAMAGE, INJURY AND THE LIKE
   It shall be unlawful for any person to unlawfully deface, injure, remove, obstruct or interfere with any official traffic sign or signal.

§ 70.04 VEHICULAR TRAFFIC AND PARKING ON PUBLIC SIDEWALKS.
   (A)   Except as stated in divisions (B) and (C) below, it shall be unlawful to operate or park a motor vehicle within a public sidewalk area in the town limits. This prohibition includes, but is not limited to, the parking or placement of a motor vehicle in such a way that obstructs or prevents pedestrians from using the sidewalk.
   (B)   This section shall not restrict or prohibit motor vehicles from crossing sidewalks while using an existing permanent or temporary driveway or entrance to access a private or public property.
   (C)   This section shall not restrict or prohibit publicly-owned emergency vehicles or maintenance vehicles from operating or parking on public sidewalks.

OPERATION OF GOLF CARTS
§ 70.15 DEFINITIONS.
   For the purposes of this subchapter, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning:
   “FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY.” Liability coverage applicable to the golf cart and compliant with all Indiana laws applicable to a motor vehicle operated on the public highways of the State of Indiana.
   “GOLF CART.” A vehicle with four wheels substantially similar to a vehicle originally and specifically designed and intended to transport one or more individuals for the purpose of playing the game of golf on a golf course. The golf cart may be powered by a battery or internal combustion engine.
   “OPERATOR.” A person(s) holding a valid operator's license issued by the State of Indiana or another state.
   “ROADWAYS.” A road or street included in the Town of Danville's road inventory system and for which the Town of Danville has primary responsibility for maintenance and oversight.
   “STATE HIGHWAY.” Any street under the control of and maintained by the State of Indiana.
