242.13 NONRESIDENT SERVICE.
   (a)   Pursuant to Ohio R.C. 737.041, as amended, the Chief of Police, the Deputy Police Chief and the officers on duty in charge of the Police Department are hereby authorized to render the services of the Police Department to other municipalities, townships, counties or the State in times of emergency, whether or not the Village has entered into mutual aid contracts for police services with any of those political subdivisions or the State. The determination of times of emergency shall be made only by the Chief of Police, the Deputy Police Chief or the officers on duty in charge of the Police Department upon a call for emergency police protection services by the State or by another political subdivision of the State.
   (b)   The personnel of the Police Department rendering emergency services to other political subdivisions shall, as provided by State law, be entitled to all of their usual wages and benefits, shall be covered by workers' compensation and shall be immune from any liability arising from the reasonable, good faith rendering of emergency police protection services.
