1303.08 LETTER "H".
(a) "Habitable room" means a room or enclosed floor space arranged for living, eating, or sleeping purposes, but does not include a room used as a bathroom, water closet compartment, laundry, pantry, foyer, hallway or other accessory floor space.
(b) "Height, building" means the vertical distance from the grade to the top of the highest roof deck of a flat roof, to the deck level of a mansard roof, and to the mean level of the highest gable or slope of a pitched roof.
(c) "Height, story" means the vertical distance from top to top of two successive tiers of floor beams or finished floor surfaces; and, for the topmost story, from the upper limit of the story below to the top of the uppermost ceiling joists, or, where there are no ceiling joists, to the uppermost level to which the height of the building is measured.
(d) "Height, wall" means the vertical distance from the foundation wall or other immediate support of the wall to the top of the wall.
