BOARD OF APPEALS FOR ABATEMENT OF DANGEROUS BUILDINGS

2-2-1: BOARD CREATED; MEMBERSHIP; APPOINTMENT; TERM:
There is hereby established a board of appeals for abatement of dangerous buildings in and for the city. The board of appeals shall consist of five (5) members, none of whom are employees of the city. The city superintendent shall be an ex officio member of the board and shall act as secretary to the board. The board members shall be appointed by the city council and shall hold office until a member resigns or is removed by the council. (Ord. 2.52)
2-2-2: DUTIES GENERALLY:
It shall be the duty of the board of appeals to provide the final interpretation of the provisions of the code for the abatement of dangerous buildings, and in all appeals from any notice and order or any action of the city superintendent requesting the abatement of a dangerous building. 2-2-3: RULES AND REGULATIONS; APPEALS:
The board of appeals shall adopt reasonable rules and regulations for conducting its business and shall render all decisions and findings in writing to the appellant, with a copy to the city superintendent. All appeals to the board shall be processed in accordance with the code for the abatement of dangerous buildings. Failure of any person to file an appeal in accordance with the provisions of said code shall constitute a waiver of his right to administrative hearing and adjudication of the notice and order or any portion thereof. Copies of all rules and regulations adopted by the board shall be delivered to the city superintendent, who shall make them freely accessible to the public. (Ord. 2.52; amd. 2006 Code)
